Mock OSCEs – June/July
Our face to face Mock OSCE course has been ranked as one of the best courses by students, purely one to one with bespoke feedback as well as tips/advice, mark sheets, an OSCE information booklet and an experience as close to the real thing with actors/ examiners and Volk mannequin! We started these back in 2016 and have adapted and evolved the course to make it a truly worthwhile and beneficial experience for all who attend
The highlight with our mock OSCE course is that during the assessment, you are asked a series of questions, more than what would normally occur in the real thing. This is based on feedback from students who found this to be very valuable and effective
This is on a circuit across multiple rooms, just like the real thing!
Morning or afternoon sessions are available and we promise that you will find the experience worthwhile and useful
Our examiners are from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and include: College assessors, College examiners, a WOPEC lead assessor, a glaucoma specialist optometrist, a consultant ophthalmologist, a contact lens optician, hospital optometrists, IP optometrists, university clinical supervisors and AOP & college councillors.
Over 2,000 students have attended our mock OSCEs over the years, with excellent feedback.
We have over 50 cases that are used in our face to face and online courses with more created based on feedback and requests. These have been tried and tested and are proven to be effective in developing analytical thinking.

These are our most popular course. We have groups of students sitting stations individually, with one to one exams and feedback given at the end of each station. Includes VOLK on a dummy eye with feedback. We ensure social distancing and PPE is worn at all times for both students and examiners.

All our courses are 1 to 1 with examiners, and dedicated time for feedback, mark sheets,, FREE OSCE booklet, bespoke feedback with take home messages from each station
Including with your booking is FREE access to the OSCE support tutorial (see below) and you will be automatically registered and sent the Zoom link the day before the event
By booking, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions* – please only book once you have passed Stage 2!
*A refund will be made if cancellations are received, in writing at least 2 weeks before the event. We regret that any cancellation after this cannot be refunded, and that refunds for failure to attend the event cannot be made, and bookings cannot be transferred to other events.
*The mock OSCE ticket should only be booked after successful completion of Stage 2. If no confirmation has been received about Stage 2 results or if a resit is required, we will be unable to provide a refund or transfer if this occurs less than 2 weeks before the event.

Practical workshops
Main workshop (10 stations): TBC, Birmingham
This workshop covers the below topics:
- Amsler grid testing
- Colour vision assessments
- Stereopsis
- Slit lamp skills
- Binocular vision tests
- Confrontation visual fields
- High prescription dispensing
- RGP contact lenses
- Focimetry
- Amplitude of accommmodation and NPC
It will be divided into a 45-minute lecture on conducting these assessments, followed by 1 hour and 15 minutes of hands-on case practice.
These sessions are tailored not only to boost your OSCE preparation but are also invaluable for those in Stage 1 and Stage 2.
You’ll work in small groups, allowing you to collaborate with peers and maximize your learning experience.

One to one online mock OSCE course: £140
These are 11 different cases (Set A) following on from our face to face mock OSCE course, done online with an assessor. All one to one with immediate feedback and will last 1.5 hours. Due to popular demand, we have written an additional set of cases (Set B) They are broken down into:

- Practical – VOLK tutorial can be included on request, no other practicals can be done online

Individual mock OSCE from £205 This is a dedicated one to one face to face mock OSCE on a mutually convenient time and date, going through over 11 cases (including VOLK on a dummy eye)
Individual Mock OSCE course from £399 This is a dedicated one to one face to face mock OSCE on a mutually convenient time and date, going through over 22 cases (including VOLK on a dummy eye) and a variety of practical stations. Lasting 4 hours in total, includes bespoke feedback and can be tailored to support any areas you require further assistance on.
VOLK one to one practical session, from £70. An up to 60 minute session on how to perfect your VOLK skills to help you pass your OSCE station or improve your technique, includes a practical session on dummy eye.
