This discussion workshop will make practitioners think about the range of different patients that we interact with as part of our professional lives and when faced in particular situations, do we really make the patient feel inclusive? When examining patients with protected characteristics it is important to be aware of phrases we may use and how we may need to adapt our interaction. This CPD lecture should increase practitioner knowledge on EDI issues enabling equality in the care provided to patients and making the patients feel welcome and valued for who they are as an individual.
